Description
The Japanese Canadian Museum was opened on May 23, 1993 and dedicated to the Japanese Canadians, their courage under adversity and their ability to overcome injustice. The Japanese Canadian Museum is a self guided archival display, which is open to the public seven days a week, year round. The display begins when you enter the building and continues on all three floors of the Langham building. The sleeping quarters of the six members of the Krono family has been recreated with authentic artifacts in a room on the third floor. At the time of internment, the Japanese Canadians made up 2/3 of the population of Kaslo.
