The Japan Exchange and Teaching Programme seeks to help enhance internationalization in Japan by promoting mutual understanding between Japan and other nations.  The Programme aims to enhance foreign language education in Japan, and to promote international exchange at the local level through fostering ties between Japanese youth and young professionals from foreign countries.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR CURRENT OR HOPEFUL APPLICANTS:

JET APPLICATIONS FOR 2007-2008: NOW CLOSED

Thank you to all those who applied to the JET Programme for this coming year.

We are no longer accepting applications, extra (late) documents, telephone or email inquiries about the application process.

Applications for the next intake of new JETs will be online here in September, 2007.

CANADA-WIDE APPLICATION STATUS and RESULTS: sent by mail week of Jan. 8, 2007.

We will not disclose the status of your application by telephone or email.

If you did not include a self-addressed, stamped postcard or letter with your application, please wait patiently to learn of your status until early January 2007. At that time, you will receive a letter, either offering an interview for the next stage of the JET selection process, or a letter thanking you for your application and recommending you apply again in the future..

If the address you provided on your application has changed, contact the JET Desk as soon as possible at 613-241-8541 or send an email with your full name and new mailing address to jet@embjapan.ca
