Students are between 15 and 18 years old and come from more than 30 countries around the world. They attend a local secondary school and will live with you as a member of your family!
Timesframes vary, but most families host for a period of 11 months, from August to July. However, in certain regions we also run Summer Intensive Programs, so in theses areas it is possible to host for a period of 4 weeks.
AFS families receive no pay; getting a new son or daughter is the reward!
