Snowbirds and CF-18 Perform at Air Show Ottawa

NR 004-06 - June 15, 2006

Ottawa – The Canadian Forces Snowbirds Air Demonstration Team returns to Air Show Ottawa, June 17 and 18 in Carp, Ontario, after a five-year absence.

A CF-18 Hornet Fighter aircraft, a CH-146 Search and Rescue Griffon helicopter, a CH-146 Tactical Griffon helicopter and an CP-140 Aurora Long Range Patrol aircraft will also be performing in the air show.

“This is a great opportunity for the Canadian public to see what we do and to talk to men and women from the Air Force about their jobs. It will be great fun for the family,” said Commander of Air Command and Chief of the Air Staff Lieutenant-General Steve Lucas.

Static displays of a Harvard II training aircraft and a CH-124 Sea King Maritime helicopter will be available for the public to visit throughout the show.

Gates will open at 09:00 each morning with the air demonstrations beginning at 12:00 and ending at 16:30.

Tickets may be purchased online at www.capitaltickets.ca or at the gate.
