Two highway-accessible campgrounds in Glacier National Park operate on a first-come, first-served basis:

Illecillewaet Campground (60 sites) located 3 km west of Rogers Pass summit;

Loop Brook Campground (20 sites) located 5 km west of Rogers Pass summit.

Camp among the towering cedars and hemlocks, along the fast rivers which flow from the Illecillewaet, Asulkan and Bonney glaciers. Illecillewaet Campground (60 sites) and Loop Brook Campground (20 sites) are ocated just a few kilometres west of Rogers Pass in Glacier National Park. The campgrounds are open from June to October, on a first come-first served basis. Overflow campsites are available at Sir Donald Picnic Area during July and August, with sites assigned by staff at the Rogers Pass Centre and Illecillewaet Welcome Station.

Both campgrounds have flush toilet washroom buildings, log kitchen shelters, food lockers, firewood and drinking water supplies. Loop Brook campground has a self-serve check-in station near its entrance, and Illecillewaet Campground has a staffed Welcome Station. Our staff provide information about the campground and the trails leading from here into the Asulkan and Illecillewaet valleys and the surrounding ridgelines. An all terrain wheelchair is available at the Illecillewaet campground.

Our campgrounds are rustic, without three-way hookups, showers or laundry facilities. Fewer than a dozen campsites will accommodate very large motorhomes and fifth wheel trailers. Generator use is only allowed between 10:00 am and 8:00 pm.
