Précédent

Located along Highway #2 on the west edge of Red Deer, the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame and Museum is a highly interactive, hands-on celebration of Alberta's sporting history. The exhibits include our interactive Hockey Shootout, Baseball Pitching Field, Alpine Skiing Racer, 200m Wheelchair Challenge and Call the Play Press Box. Other feature areas include the Ice & Snow - The Spirit of Winter Gallery, the Honoured Members Gallery and the Great Moments in Alberta Sport theatre. The museum exhibits change every 10 - 12 months so there is always a new exhibit with new memorabilia to see and enjoy.

Renseignements sur les collections
The collection consists of sports memorabilia, archival documents and event results from Alberta's sporting history. Feature items include a hockey sweater from the 1952 Edmonton Waterloo Mercureys Hockey Team, Olympic torch from the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics, Dr. Robert Steadward's Paralympic Order in Gold, 1936 Olympics blazer and numerous uniforms and additional memorabilia from the Edmonton Grads Basketball Teams, and the 7,000+ other artifacts / archival materials in our collection.

Visitor Services - Visitors are met upon entering the museum and guided tours are provided for those wanting a tour. Facility is available for group parties after hours. Meeting room is available for rent and can be combined with the use of the theatre for groups giving a/v presentations.

Programmes éducatifs
The Alberta Sports Hall of Fame and Museum and ATCO Gas have developed the Brain Games Education Program that links our sport heritage to the Alberta Education Curriculum. The goal of the Brain Games Education Program is to enhance the curriculum and provide the framework in which students can utilize critical thinking skills, experience hands-on interactive learning, and be assured of a successful and worthwhile filed trip to the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame and Museum. Support for the Brain Games Education Program is provided by ATCO Gas.
