Rocky Mountain House Reunion Historical Society has governed the Rocky Mountain House Museum since 1983. The museum interprets the early 1900's lifestyles.
In May, 2000 the Rocky Museum built new and houses the local Tourist Information Centre, as well as the Rocky Mountain House & District Chamber of Commerce & Visions West Outreach High School.

Renseignements sur les collections
All artifacts and archival data are donated and are relevant to the Rocky Mountain House, Clearwater County, Alberta from late eighteen hundreds to 1970's. Over 6,000 records of artifacts with digital photos are constantly being added to an Image Inventory. They are presently not available to the public or internet. Research can be done via staff of the Rocky Mountain House Museum, by appointment. Research costs may apply.

With the assistance of volunteer/members, we are able to "walk" students through the lifestyles of the early residents of Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, & Area.

The Visitor Information Centre for Rocky Mountain House, as well as the Rocky Mtn. House & District Chamber of Commerce are housed in the Rocky Museum building - totalling 14,400 square feet. It is located in Rocky Mountain House, along Highway #11 west, north of the Rocky Community Centre & Recreation facilities (Indoor swimming pools, twin ice arenas).

Over 20 indoor exhibits in 4000 square feet of space. "Pioneer Park" includes early 1900's Meadows Forestry Cabin, Glacier school (last of the local country school houses), locally built Steam Tractor, picnic tables & other outdoor exhibits. Custom guided tours available on request (examples: sour dough biscuit making, beeswax candle-making, "Who wants to be a pioneer? activity & game, "Readers Theatre" script activity, "Leaving the Dry Country" presentation by seniors, old time, fun art activity by a senior, sewing by hand, rope-making).
Ouvert : Victoria Day (May) weekend to Labor Day (Sept.)Monday to Friday, 9 am to 6 pm, Saturdays & Sundays 10 am to 5 pm.
