Visitor Information
Camping
Gros Morne National Park offers frontcountry camping at five different locations. Each campground offers its own unique camping experiences and opportunities. The descriptions below will help you choose a site. None of our campgrounds offer serviced sites.
Reserve your campsite in advance and relax knowing that your experience in one of our campgrounds is guaranteed. Reservations are recommended for all the campgrounds except for primitive campsites and for Green Point, which uses self-registration.
Group camping is available in the centrally located Berry Hill campground.
Primitive camping sites are maintained along several park trails.
In addition to the park campgrounds, private campgrounds are located in adjacent communities. Most offer serviced sites. For information on these campgrounds please visit newfoundlandandlabradortourism.com.
Campground Reservations
Our park is using the National Parks Canada Campground Reservation Service.
To reserve a campsite in our park, please visit the 24-hour Internet service at www.pccamping.ca or dial toll free 1-877-737-3783 (1-877-RESERVE) (12 hours/day), TTY: 1-866-787-6221. If you are calling from abroad, the international number is 1-905-426-4648.

Trout River Pond

- Located in the southern part of the park, 50km from the park entrance at Wiltondale off route 431.
- 44 large grassy sites.
- Outstanding views up Trout River Pond.
- Beach for unsupervised swimming at the nearby day use area.
- Boat tour and a boat launch.
- A good base for exploring the geology of the Tablelands, the Green Gardens area, and the community of Trout River.
- 18km from the Discovery Centre.
Lomond

- Located in the southern part of the park, 17km from the park entrance at Wiltondale off route 431.
- 29 open grassy sites.
- Campground is ideal for people interested in fishing and boating.
- Area was once a logging community, and two trails follow old logging roads.
- Outstanding views of Bonne Bay and the Long Range Mountains.

Green Point

- Located 12km north of Rocky Harbour on route 430.
- 31 sites nestled in tuckamore just a few metres above the cobble beach.
- Nearby fishing area is still active seasonally.
- Trail along the old winter mail road runs south to Bakers Brook.
- Campground operates on a self-registration basis.

Shallow Bay
- Located 52km north of Rocky Harbour off route 430, near the community of Cow Head.
- 62 grassy sites are sheltered behind a line of tuckamore.
- Campground is only metres away from a 4 km-long sand beach.
- Small outdoor theatre is used for campfire programs on occasion.
- Trail along the old winter mail road links the campground to the day use area.

Regulations
- All vehicles entering the campground must stop and register. Only registered campers or their guests and registered hikers may enter the campground.
- Each campsite is limited to one camping unit plus a small tent.
- Quiet hour is enforced at 11:00 pm.
- Check-out time is noon.
- Do not drive nails into trees.
- Valuables must be properly secured.
- Do not leave food around your campsite, it may attract bears.
- Fires are allowed only in provided fireplaces. Firewood is available from the campground attendant.
- To protect the forest ecosystem, do not gather wood or kindling. Dead trees and fallen branches provide nutrients and a protective mulch for new growth.
