Canadians are invited to pay their respects to the late The Right Honourable Ramon John Hnatyshyn

Lying in State
Canadians are invited to pay their respects to the late The Right Honourable Ramon John Hnatyshyn, P.C., C.C., C.M.M., C.D., Q.C., former Governor General of Canada. The lying in state will take place in the Senate Chamber of the Centre Block on Parliament Hill.
The details are as follows:

Date: Sunday, December 22
Time: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Date: Monday, December 23
Time: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

These hours may be extended, as required.

Members of the public should enter through the Welcome Centre of the Centre Block on Parliament Hill.

There is no public parking on Parliament Hill.

Books of Condolence
Canadians can now sign the books of condolence in the Senate Foyer on Parliament Hill.

State Funeral
The State Funeral will take place at Christ Church Cathedral in Ottawa, on December 23 at 2 p.m. Limited seating inside the Cathedral will be available to the first members of the general public to arrive.

An additional 300 seats will be available, in the hall adjoining the Cathedral, from which people will be able to watch the service on a giant screen.

Live Broadcasting
National television networks are expected to broadcast the State Funeral live.
