LA TUQUE, November 28, 2003 -- Senator Lucie Pépin, on behalf of Minister of Canadian Heritage Sheila Copps, today announced funding of $45,000 for the Corporation de développement des arts et de la culture de Ville de La Tuque to help finance its 2004Ñ2005 activities.

"I am pleased to announce this funding for an organization that is becoming one of the leading cultural presenters in the region," said Senator Pépin. "Its diverse programming gives the public access to a rich and varied cultural life."

The Corporation de développement des arts et de la culture de Ville de La Tuque produces and presents numerous artistic events. As well, it is responsible for managing the Complexe Félix-Leclerc, a new concert hall inaugurated in 1999. Winner of the Prix Partenariat as part of the February 2003 Bourse RIDEAU, the Corporation presents close to 40 shows a year that cover all facets of the performing arts. Its 2004Ñ2005 season will focus on shows for elementary and high school students and the entire family.
