Appointment to the Canadian Museum of Nature Announced

OTTAWA, December 3, 2001 -- Minister of Canadian Heritage Sheila Copps today announced the appointment of Johanne Bouchard to the Board of Trustees of the Canadian Museum of Nature, for a three-year term.

Ms. Bouchard is Founding President and Director General of the Académie de l'entrepreneurship québécois inc., the first teaching college of its kind in Quebec. Over the years, she has had a varied career in marketing, as a college teacher and in developing workshops on entrepreneurship. She has been President and Director General of Groupe Trans-Form Inc. and Vice President of Marketing for the Corporation d'expansion économique de Saint-Hubert.

Ms. Bouchard has been involved on the boards of a number of organizations. She has served as Founding Chair of the Association des gens d'affaires de Saint-Hubert and the Association nationale des femmes entrepreneures. She currently sits as a member of the advisory committee of the Commission d'évaluation de l'enseignement collégial and is Treasurer of the Board of Collège Charles-Lemoyne.

The Canadian Museum of Nature is an important federal cultural organization dedicated to increasing, throughout Canada and internationally, interest in, knowledge of and appreciation and respect for the natural world.
