International show for seniors attracts federal government participation

MONTRÉAL, June 6, 1996 Acting Minister of Canadian Heritage and Member of Parliament for St. Henri-Westmount, Lucienne Robillard, announced today that her Department was participating in the International Show for the Fifty-Plus with an information kiosk. The exhibition is taking place at the Palais des Congrès in Montréal from June 6 to June 9, 1996.

Minister Robillard said the exhibition was an excellent opportunity for her department to reach a large number of seniors with information on programs and services available at Canadian Heritage, while at the same time supporting the International Show for the Fifty- Plus.

The Minister added that at least three other federal departments, by also staffing kiosks, would be providing information on various other government programs and services to the thousands of visitors expected to attend this year's show. These include Human Resources Development Canada, Health Canada and Veterans' Affairs.
