Expo '98 on Internet
OTTAWA, August 13, 1997 -- Minister of Canadian Heritage Sheila Copps today announced the launch of the Canadian Government's "Expo `98" Internet site, developed in close cooperation with Bell Canada. The Minister invites everyone to log on and explore the site.Sponsored by Bell Canada, the site contains a wealth of information not only on the origins of international expositions, but also on Canada's participation in Expo `98. This exposition will be held in Lisbon, Portugal, from May 22 to September 30, 1998, and its theme is "The Oceans: a Heritage for the Future."
"We invite other sponsors to follow Bell Canada's example and join forces with the federal government in making Canada's participation in Expo `98 a success," said Minister Copps.
