Appointments to CBC Board of Directors

OTTAWA, November 30, 1995 Canadian Heritage Minister Michel Dupuy today announced the appointment of Clarence LeBreton and the reappointment of Sandra Kolber to the CBC Board of Directors for a term of three years.

Mr. LeBreton, who lives in Caraquet, New Brunswick, is a member of numerous organizations, including the Image Commission of New Brunswick, the program committee of the Summit of the Francophone Heads of State, Paris, and the Interministerial Committee of Francophonie, New Brunswick.

His publications include L'Affaire Louis Mailloux, Le Collège de Caraquet, and Caraquet Flyer.

Ms. Kolber, who was appointed to the Board of Directors of the CBC in 1990, is a Member of The Order of Canada and was awarded the Governor General's medal for Volunteerism in the Performing Arts last year. She is vice-president of Montreal's Symphony Orchestra, and has also served as member of the Board of Directors of Cineplex Odeon Corporation. Her feature film, George and the Star, was nominated for a Gemini Award in 1986. She has also produced plays and has written two books of poetry and several articles.
