Minister Sheila Copps Names Chairperson of Board of Trustees of Canadian Museum of Nature

OTTAWA, March 22, 1996 The Honourable Sheila Copps, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Canadian Heritage, today announced the appointment of Frank Ling, of Ottawa, as chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Canadian Museum of Nature. The appointment, effective immediately, is for a period of three years.

Mr. Ling, an international business and development consultant, holds a Master's Degree in City Planning and Urban Design from Harvard University. He is a member of the Ontario Association of Architects, the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada and the Royal Institute of British Architects. He is president of Ling Incorporated and Kalfat Corporation, chairman and chief executive officer of Linkbridge Corporation and consultant to companies in Canada and Asia Pacific.

Mr. Ling is active in community and business organizations. He has received Canada's 125th Anniversary Medal, the Ontario Ministry of Citizenship and Culture Volunteer Service Award, and the Board of Commissioners of Police Civilian Commendation.

He has been national chairman and governor of the Hong Kong-Canada Business Association, Vice President of the Chinese Canadian National Council, member of the Ontario Advisory Council of Multiculturalism and Citizenship, treasurer of the Ottawa General Hospital's Board of Trustees, and Chinese community co-chairman of the Ottawa Heart Institute Fundraising Campaign.
