You risk your lives far from home every day to make the world a better place for everyone. World freedom comes by freeing one person at a time, and you do this better than anyone else: Canada has only 1% of the world’s population, but we have provided 10% of the world’s peacekeeping forces.
You are part of the reason I am so proud to be a Canadian: you are the greatest peacekeepers on Earth, and as your role expands to include peacemaking, I know you will continue to do whatever is necessary, both by training here and by serving abroad, to uphold Canada’s high ideals and exemplary history of service.
My holiday wish for you as you serve is that you have a silent night, and that all is calm wherever you may be.

Some people ask why do our soldiers have to face injury and death in a faraway country we hardly know about. Living in comfortable Canada, they just don't seem to understand the level of true evil that can be found walking this world.  You soldiers voluntarily face this threat and strive to nip it in the bud before it grows out of control.  Anyone who does that for me, my family and country are heroes to me.

I can't find the right words to express my respect and gratitude for all that you have done and continue to do in order to make this world a better place to live in. You sacrifice so much that "thank you" doesn't seem to cover it, but its all I've got, so... (I wear a pin on my jacket every day and red every Friday, if that counts for anything! lol) You are thought of with much love and gratitude during the holiday season and always.
