RIMPAC 2006
RIMPAC 2006 will be the twentieth RIMPAC. It is a biennial, multi-national sea control/power projection fleet exercise that has been performed since 1971. APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) nations of the Pacific Rim such as Australia, Canada, Chile, Japan, Peru, South Korea and the United Kingdom are regular participants. Several observer nations are invited, including, but not limited to, Chile, Ecuador, France, Malaysia, Mexico, Peru, Philippines, Russia, Singapore and Thailand.
RIMPAC 2006 will be conducted in the Hawaii Operating areas 26 Jun - 28 Jul 2006.
The purpose of the exercise is to enhance key war fighting skill sets and coalition interoperability that enable RIMPAC nations to participate in advanced real world littoral operations.
