  • 11/29/2006 - Canadian Forces Assists With Avalanche Control
Are you among the 2,800 daily motorists who travel the Trans-Canada Highway through Rogers Pass during the treacherous winter months?  Perhaps you regularly make use of the route because you are a resident of one of the many communities surrounding the Pass.  Maybe you truck on through the Pass in your 18-wheeler because it’s your livelihood.  Or you may be a tourist, passing through to access a favourite ski resort, campsite or hiking trail.  Whatever your reason, your ability to safely transit this 18 km stretch of highway can be greatly credited to the efforts of Canadian soldiers who help Parks Canada with avalanche control.
