![]() Ontario Public Service (OPS) Internship Program for Internationally Trained ProfessionalsTo encourage Ontario businesses to tap into the talents of newcomers, the Ontario government is leading by example. The province is participating in an internship program that will provide internationally trained professionals with an opportunity to combine their knowledge acquired in jurisdictions around the world with Canadian experience. Starting in the fall of 2006, newcomers with a minimum of three years of international work experience will be eligible for a placement of up to six months within the Ontario Public Service. To establish this first-ever provincial internship program for the internationally trained, the Ontario government is working with Career Bridge to place up to 70 interns in a wide variety of fields including finance, chemistry, business administration, communications and environmental sciences. All candidates will be selected from a database and will be screened for employment status, language ability and educational credentials. The Career Bridge Program How to apply Internationally trained professionals interested in becoming an intern in the OPS Internship Program must apply directly to Career Bridge to become a Career Bridge candidate. Once in the Career Bridge candidate database, individuals will be able to apply for available internships within the Ontario Public Service.
