Premier Dalton McGuinty was born on July 19, 1955 in Ottawa, Ontario. His father was a teacher and his mother was a nurse. Growing up, his home was happy but crowded; he has nine brothers and sisters.

The Premier had an after-school job as a teenager. He was an orderly in a hospital and was also a children’s camp counsellor.

The Premier and his wife, Terri, have four children, Carleen, Dalton Jr., Liam and Connor. He enjoys summer vacations with his kids and his family is very special to him.

In his spare time, Premier McGuinty enjoys spending time with his family and playing golf with his sons. His favourite television show is 24.

He became the 24^th Premier of Ontario on Oct. 23, 2003. One of the most important things to him as Premier is helping students, teachers and schools succeed.
