Transportation

Ontario boasts a number of extensive and efficient transportation systems offering the traveller an array of ways to get around the province, from air to land to water. Airports and airlines provide speedy travel within Ontario, to other parts of Canada, and overseas. Car rental companies or airport taxi and shuttle services are often situated right on airport premises. Bus lines and rail lines span the province and offer services that can be tailored to suit any budget, while ferry services provide dependable transportation on the water.

The following ferry lines operate in Ontario:
  • Chi Cheemaun, which runs between Tobermory and South Baymouth on Manitoulin Island;
  • Glenora, which connects Glenora and Adolphustown in Eastern Ontario;
  • Pelee Island Ferry, running between Leamington or Kingsville and Pelee Island in Southern Ontario;
  • Toronto Islands, which departs from the downtown Toronto docks and services the Toronto Islands;
  • Wolfe Island, connecting Kingston and Wolfe Island in Eastern Ontario.
