What fees does the Companies and Personal Property Security Branch charge?

The Companies and Personal Property Security Branch (CPPS) provides a number of important services to businesses and individuals in the province. The fees for those services are:

Registrations

For registering of a financing statement or financing change statement designated as a renewal under the Personal Property Security Act:

• For 1 to 25 years $8.00 per year
• For a perpetual period $500.00

For a registration of a claim for a lien or change statement designated as a renewal under the Repair and Storage Liens Act:

• For 1 to 3 years $8.00 per year

For all other registrations (except discharges) $12.00

(Discharge continues to be "No Charge". However the Administrative fee of $5.00 applies to paper registrations)

Administrative fee for each registration by paper form, over and above the registration fee $5.00

*Fee is per registration and not per page.

Enquiries

For verbal/printed response $8.00

For a certificate response $8.00

Administrative fee for each staff assisted enquiry over and above the enquiry fee $2.00

Branch Office Documents

Branch office documents include:

• A chattel mortgage registered under the Bills of Sale and Chattel Mortgage Act:
• A contract registered under the Conditional Sales Act; and
• An assignment of book debts registered under The assignment of Book Debts Act.

For production (retrieval) of a branch office document $1.00

For a copy of a branch office document $1.00 per page

Central Office Documents

Central Office statements include:
• financing statements
• claims for liens
• financing change statements
• change statements

For a production (retrieval) and copy of a central office statement $14.00

For a certified copy of a statement (fee includes production and copying) $15.00

Corporation Securities Registration Act (CSRA) Registration

For inspection of a document registered under the CSRA $12.00

For a copy of a document registered under the CSRA $1.00 per page

For certification of a copy of a document registered under the CSRA $23.00

NOTE: PPSR IS REQUIRED TO CHARGE A FEE OF $35.00 FOR ALL CHEQUES RETURNED BY THE BANK AS NOT-NEGOTIABLE.

(Fee Schedule effective October 1, 1997)
