Welcome to the new Public Appointments Secretariat Web Site!
Its launch is part of our plan to make government more open and accessible, to demystify the way we do business, and to work to ensure government reflects the true face of Ontario.

About 4,800 Ontarians serve the province by sitting on almost 630 agencies, boards and commissions.

They do important work. To cite a few examples, some oversee local police or health services, others consider rent rates, and still others compensate the injured victims of crime.

The purpose of this web site is to provide user-friendly access to the government appointments process.

As of today, all persons applying to serve on any government Agency, Board or Commission must apply through the Public Appointments Secretariat.

I often say that none of us is as strong as all of us, working together. The purpose of this site is to strengthen the appointments process to all Ontarians.

I invite you to visit this web site often and learn more about our new process. I hope it will inform and even inspire you to consider contributing to your community and your province.
