Seniors' Care : Who do I Contact for Information?

Community Care Access Centres (CCACs) are local agencies that provide information about care options in your area. The CCACs were established by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care in 1996, to help the public access government-funded home and community services and long-term care homes. There are 42 CCACs throughout Ontario.

Whether you are just beginning to explore your needs or ready to finalize arrangements, your local CCAC can help you :

  • Identify your care needs
  • Explore the options best suited to your needs and personal situation
  • Determine your eligibility for government-funded services and settings
  • Gather information about providers (home, community support services and residential care) in your area
  • Find out how services are delivered
  • Arrange for delivery of government-funded home and community support services
  • Arrange and apply for admission to a long-term care home
  • Get on the appropriate waiting lists

To take the first step, use the CCAC Locator to find a CCAC near you.

To find out more about other services provided by CCACs, see the Community Care Access Centres section.
