Health Results Team Second Annual Report 2005-2006
October 2006
![]() The Health Results Team was brought together in September 2004 with a mandate to implement specific areas of the government’s plan for change, including: wait times; access to primary care; system integration; and information management. Two years later, Ontarians are now waiting almost two months less than they used to for cataract surgery and hip and knee replacements. They are waiting a month less for an MRI scan. And they have better access to primary health care services because 53 new Family Health Teams are up and running - and another 97 are ready to go. These, as well as other key result areas, are highlighted in the team's second annual report, submitted to Premier McGuinty and the Honourable George Smitherman, Minister of Health and Long-Term Care, by the team's Executive Lead, Hugh McLeod. The report provides an account of the significant progress that has been made in improving access to health care and the quality of care provided to Ontario patients by highlighting key result areas.
