About the Expo

Celebrating Innovations in Health Care Expo 2007 is a showcase of innovative solutions and projects supporting health care system renewal in Ontario. This event is your opportunity to share and learn about current achievements and unique approaches underway in communities across the province as they relate to the government's transformation strategies around primary care, wait times, critical care, information management and Local Health Integration Networks, as well as innovations underway in other health care communities such as mental health, long-term care, and public health. The expo presents a unique occasion for collectively acknowledging the system's successes around the delivery of patient-focused and integrated health care services.

Innovation Themes

Building on the success of Celebrating Innovations in Health Care Expo 2006, the expo themes demonstrating inspired and creative health care sector initiatives continue to be relevant into 2007. As an attendee, you'll hear from and engage with other professionals about forward-looking strategies and directions for health care in Ontario. As a presenter or exhibitor at one of our interactive workshops, exhibits or poster displays, you'll share your insights and experiences about enabling innovations in health care regarding :

  • Meeting community needs through integrated care
  • Improving quality and patient safety
  • Improving efficiency through process redesign
  • Innovative health information management
  • Innovations in health human resources

Innovation Awards 2007

Don't miss the announcement and presentation of achievement awards at the special closing ceremony to acknowledge leading, made-in Ontario health care initiatives that advocate innovation in health care and address challenges and opportunities. The 2006 awards were presented by the Honourable George Smitherman, Minister of Health and Long-Term Care, and the recipients were: Cancer Care Ontario, Princess Margaret Hospital, Solutions - East Toronto's Health Collaborative, Trillium Health Centre, and University of Waterloo & Homewood Research Institute.

Who Should Attend

Enjoy the expo's relaxed environment to network with other dedicated health care leaders, practitioners, professionals and students from a broad range of clinical and administrative areas, as well as government, research and education. Representatives from all health care sectors are encouraged to participate.

2006 Celebrations

In its first year, Celebrating Innovations in Health Care Expo 2006 attracted over 2,000 delegates and showcased 35 workshops, 153 booths and 194 posters representing a cross-section of Ontario's health care system including primary care, long-term care, acute care, mental health, community health, public health and transport health.
