Health System Improvements Act, 2006
The government is introducing new legislation that, if passed, would make the health care system more responsive to the needs of the public by strengthening and supporting health professionals and the various programs and services that make up our health care system.

Long Term Care Homes Act, 2006
The government is introducing new legislation that, if passed, will enhance the quality of life for residents of long-term care homes by strengthening enforcement and improving care and accountability.

Transparent Drug System for Patients Act, 2006
The Ontario government has introduced legislation that would, if passed, enable a comprehensive plan to get better value for money which will allow reinvestments to deliver better care to patients.

Traditional Chinese Medicine Act, 2005
Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is currently an unregulated profession in Ontario; no restrictions exist on who may call themselves a practitioner or who may practice the profession. If passed, the legislation will make traditional Chinese medicine the first new health profession to be regulated since 1991.

Local Health System Integration Act, 2006
The Ontario government plans to change the delivery of health care services through Local Health Integration Networks (LHINs) and the proposed Local Health System Integration Act, 2005, if it is passed. LHINs are already created and the bill is proposed, not enacted.

Health Information Protection Act, 2004
The Health Information Protection Act creates a comprehensive approach to protect health information across the health care system.

Health Protection and Promotion Act (HPPA)
Bill 105 is an Act amending the HPPA to require the taking of blood samples to protect victims of crime, emergency service workers, good Samaritans and other persons.

Commitment to the Future of Medicare Act, 2004
This Act is intended to clearly demonstrate that this Government is committed to the fundamental principles of medicare as laid out in the Canada Health Act.
