PUBLIC HEALTH : Mandatory Health Programs
and Services Guidelines The purpose of the standards contained in this document is to set out the minimum requirements for fundamental public health programs and services targeted at prevention of disease, health promotion and health protection. These standards reflect broad aspirations for the health of all Ontarians and the important role of boards of health in providing and/or ensuring relevant programs and services. Through these standards, boards of health seek to enable residents of the community to realize their fullest health potential. They do this by promoting improved health, preventing disease and injury, controlling threats to human life and function, and facilitating social conditions to ensure equal opportunity in attaining health for all. The Mandatory Health Programs and Services Guidelines are published by the Minister of Health and Long-Term Care, pursuant to Section 7 of the Health Protection and Promotion Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. H.7 Prepared by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, Public Health Division Information for the Children In Need Of Treatment (CINOT) Schedule of Dental Services and Fees is also available.
