Health Professions Regulatory Advisory Council
The Health Professions Regulatory Advisory Council (HPRAC) report entitled Regulation of Health Professions in Ontario : New Directions has been released by the ministry for public review and comment. HPRAC is an arm's-length advisory council that has a mandate under the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA) to provide independent policy advice to the minister on matters related to the regulation of health professions in Ontario. In response to the minister's request, HPRAC reviewed previous recommendations, examined practices in other jurisdictions, conducted public consultations on a variety of topics and completed a review of the RHPA. The recommendations of the 339 page report can be grouped in three broad categories :
The government is considering HPRAC's recommendations. Practitioners, stakeholders and the public are encouraged to comment on the recommendations by downloading the HPRAC report and the feedback form below.
