Census 2006

Census 2006

The next Census of Canada will take place on May 16.  The federal government will be counting everyone in every province and territory.

The Census helps make sure you and your family have access to the services you need — health care, public transit, schools and day care, police and fire protection, employment and training programs.

Be sure to count yourself in — every Ontarian who gets counted means more federal money for our province.  That money is used to make important investments for you and your family.

Participating is easy:

  • Most of us will answer just eight questions.
  • Questions are available in English, French and Arabic, Chinese (Simplified), Portuguese, Spanish, Russian and Punjabi.
  • You can complete it through the mail, online or in person.

Your privacy is protected by law.  And if you need help, call the Census Help Line at 1-877-594-2006 or visit the Census web site.

Ontario families depend on the services governments provide.  That’s why we’re depending on you to participate in this year’s Census.

You can get more information from the Statistics Canada Web site at http://www.census2006.ca.
