Resource-Based TourismThe Resource-Based Tourism Unit is responsible for heightening the competitiveness and growth of Ontario's resource-based tourism industry through:
Tourism Marketing Opportunities Resource-based tourism involves the use and enjoyment of the natural environment and resources on Crown lands and waters, including but not limited to activities such as hunting, fishing, visiting provincial parks and conservation reserves, camping, canoeing, hiking, snowmobiling, and wildlife viewing. The Government of Ontario has recognized the importance of the resource-based tourism industry in Ontario through the directions provided by the Cabinet-approved Resource-Based Tourism Policy in February 1997.
