OBC Service Locations

OBC services are available through a network of over 150 service locations across Ontario. There are currently 2 types of service locations offering electronic registrations:

  • Dedicated self-help workstation locations
  • Internet-based self-help workstation locations

Dedicated Self-Help Workstation Locations

OBC services provided at this type of service location include the following:

  • Immediate Exact Business Name Search
  • Immediate Business Name Registration
  • Business Name Renewal electronic application (MBL in the mail within 2 weeks)
  • Retail Sales Tax Vendor Permit electronic application (RST)
  • Employer Health Tax electronic application (EHT)
  • Workplace Safety and Insurance Board electronic application (WSIB)

The fee for business name registration or renewal is $60, payable by cash, personal/business cheque, money order, certified cheque, American Express (AMEX), MasterCard or VISA. The fee for an exact business name search is $8, also payable by the above methods. At the dedicated workstation, business name searches are performed instantly and you will also receive your Master Business Licence during your visit. Application(s) will be sent to RST, EHT and WSIB offices and they will contact you directly after your visit.

Internet-based Self-Help Workstation Locations

OBC services provided at this type of service location include an electronic application for the following:

  • Online Enhanced Business Name Search
  • Online Business Name Registration
  • Business Name Renewal electronic application (MBL in the mail within 2 weeks)
  • Retail Sales Tax Vendor Permit electronic application (RST)
  • Employer Health Tax electronic application (EHT)
  • Workplace Safety and Insurance Board electronic application (WSIB)

The fee for business name registration or renewal is $60, payable by American Express (AMEX), MasterCard or VISA only. The fee for the Enhanced Business Name Search will vary depending on the type of report requested, also payable by the above methods.
