Saskatchewan produces approximately 12% of the Canadian sheep production and is home to the largest lamb feedlot in Canada.

According to Statistics Canada, there were an estimated 142,000 sheep and lambs on Saskatchewan farms in 2006 and in 2001 approximately 16,000 goats.
