The price of wild boar meat in Saskatchewan is higher than domestic pork, but lower than game meats. Opportunities in Saskatchewan exist for the new emerging market of harvest preserves.

In 2001, Saskatchewan's inventory of wild boar (15,000 head) represents 50 per cent of the Canadian herd.
