Saskatchewan oilseed production has grown successfully over the last 30 years. The second largest crop grown in the province is now canola - a crop that did not exist 30 years ago.

In 2005, 6.6 M acres were seeded to canola and over 4.66 M tonnes were produced. In 2004, the value of Saskatchewan canola exports was over $539 M.
