Saskatchewan's northern regions provide agriculture opportunities such as wild rice production, wild blueberries, lowbush cranberries, green moss, reindeer lichen, birch bark, fireweed and other botanicals.

In 2004, 100 wild rice producers harvested 330 tonnes for a value over $544,000.
