Leadership for Child and Youth Mental Health
As part of the Ontario government’s Moving on Mental Health Strategy, we are proud that Kinark was chosen as the Lead Agency for child and youth mental health in the service areas of York, Durham and Haliburton/Kawartha Lakes/Peterborough. We are committed to supporting child and youth mental health and collaborating with our community partners to strengthen the sector in order to improve outcomes for children and families.
Kinark has worked with children and youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families for many years across southern and central Ontario. We are proud of our 20 year history of providing high quality, evidenced-based services to thousands of children and their families and offering respite camps for both children with ASD and family groups.
Kinark is now providing a new range of fee-for-service services for children, youth and families that are designed to meet your child’s unique needs and help them be successful. As part of our commitment to working with our clients and their families to help you make decisions about purchasing services that will meet your needs, we are offering free consultations for families.

Research indicates that children and youth with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) have significantly higher rates of mental health issues than kids in the general population. The prevalence of mental health disorders in young people with autism is more than four times higher than in their non-ASD peers.
