![]() Ontario Health Premium
Starting July 1, 2004, the Ontario Health Premium will be deducted from employee pay and pension cheques through the income tax system. The actual amount of the premium for the year would be determined when you file your annual income tax return. Revenue from the premium would contribute $1.6 billion of the $2.2 billion in additional investments in the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care this year. By the fourth year of Ontario Government’s Plan for Change, the premium would raise $2.6 billion of the $4.8 billion in additional investments in health care.
