Navigation
The Secrétariat du Conseil du trésor site was designed to permit user-friendly navigation.
Navigation bar
Located at the top of the page, the navigation bar lets you access general information and a search engine. It also allows you to choose to view pages in French or English.
Main menu - Level 1
This menu lets you access the main sections at all times. The section chosen is highlighted in green and remains so until you choose another one. In the example above, we are in the Minister section.
Section menu - Level 2 and 3
The vertical menu at the left lets you access a new menu for each section. A sub-menu is available for some headings such as the above example using About the Conseil du trésor. The title of the heading will remain highlighted while you are in the section.
Overline
Overlines are designed to draw your attention to a summary or important information on the subject.
Navigation at the bottom of the page
At the bottom of each page is a new horizontal navigation bar containing links to the main sections and the Secrétariat du Conseil du trésor's confidentiality policy.
Printing
Note that printed copies differ from the documents shown on-screen because a printing style sheet governs display and formatting. All navigation elements are eliminated to speed up printing. If you have trouble printing a whole page, reduce the right and left margins to zero. To do so:
- In the File menu, select Page Setup and change margins.
Document extraction
A zip file is a compressed file.
It reduces the disk space used by a document, thereby cutting down on download time.

Acrobat Reader
Many of the documents on the site are in Acrobat (PDF) format. They are flagged using the following icon . To open these files, you need Acrobat Reader software, which can be downloaded free of charge on the Adobe website.
QuickTime
To view a video, your computer needs a sound board and a
QuickTime player

When the download is finished, run the install program and follow the instructions.
