Fees required
When you apply for your CAQ for studies, a fee of C$100 is charged to examine
your file.
This fee is not refundable even if your application is rejected
and is not deductible from the fees required by the Government of Canada.
The Government
of Canada charges fees for the application for a study permit.
Method of payment
Only the following payment methods are accepted:
- credit card (complete the Payment by credit
card form, sign it and
enclose it with your application). Payment by credit card is accepted even
if you apply for your CAQ for studies abroad, since your application will
be processed in Montréal.
- certified cheque drawn on a Canadian bank in Canadian currency (certified
cheque or cashier’s cheque)
- bank draft drawn on a Canadian bank in Canadian currency (bank money
order)
- cash payment in Canadian currency (at the Service aux étudiants
[student services] counter only).
Certified cheques, cashier’s cheques and bank drafts must be made payable
to the Ministre des Finances du Québec and must be valid for a period
of six months. Your bank should ensure that the cheque is drawn on a Canadian
bank1 and that it can be cashed without charge.
1This means that the cheque is drawn
on an account at a Canadian bank in Canadian currency. This cheque is thus
cashable in Canada without charge. The amount of the cheque is withdrawn from
the account of the person making the payment.
