Recommend that the sponsored person go to the Immigration-Québec office at the airport

Entry procedures will be fairly simple and fast for the sponsored person because he or she has a passport and permanent resident visa. Canadian authorities are responsible for customs inspection and granting permanent resident status. These procedures can be carried out at any Canadian border crossing.

Arrival at the Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau Airport in Montréal

Do not hesitate to recommend to the sponsored person to stop by the Immigration-Québec office once the customs inspection is completed. The office is located in the international arrivals lobby, close to the luggage carousel. MICC representatives will explain how to access key government services and will provide the sponsored person with a copy of the Learning about Québec: Guide to my successful integration, if he or she does not already have a copy, as well as other documents containing useful information for a smooth integration into life in Québec.

Other points of arrival

Recommend that the sponsored person contact the Immigration-Québec services in your region to make an appointment with an integration officer.

  USEFUL INFORMATION

If you are unable to greet the sponsored person upon arrival in Québec, he or she has various transportation options:

From the airport to Montréal

  • reasonably priced shuttle bus
  • taxi
  • car rental at the airport

From a bus terminal, train station or marine terminal to Montréal

  • taxi
  • car rental at the terminal or station

To another region of Québec

  • train
  • bus
  • rented car
  • airplane (from the Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau International Airport in Montréal)

At comparable prices to the train, the bus offers the advantage of more frequent departures and more destinations.
