Human Development IndexHUMAN DEVELOPMENT INDEX (HDI)1
Source: Human Development Report 2005, UN 1 For each country, the HDI is calculated using the combination of values of four indicators: life expectancy (years), adult literacy rate (percentage of the population older than 15 years of age), gross combined enrollment rate (from primary level to higher education) and GDP per inhabitant (PPP, $U.S.). 2 For 2005, the calculation is based on data observed in 2003.
