Eligibility criteria for the program
You must meet the following conditions to participate in the seasonal agricultural
workers program:
- Access to the foreign seasonal agricultural workers program is reserved
for producers of vegetable and fruit crops, greenhouse flowers and vegetables,
and tobacco, as well as for ornamental tree nurseries and sod farms.
- As an employer, you are required to pay for the foreign worker’s
airfare (roundtrip).
- The farming enterprise must be able to provide free lodging to foreign
workers in housing that meets the health and safety standards of the appropriate
municipal body.
