Admission and registration

Admission

You are eligible for French courses if:

  • you have lived in Québec for five years or less
  • you lack sufficient knowledge of French for everyday life or work
  • you are 16 years of age or older
  • you have not reached the maximum of 1800 hours of French courses from the Ministère de l’Immigration et des Communautés culturelles (MICC)
  • your immigration status allows it.

Registration

Registration is done directly with the community organization partners of the MICC. For CEGEPs or universities, the Ministère reserves the right to enroll students with the partner of its choice.

Evaluation of your proficiency in French

When you register, an evaluation of your French proficiency may be required. It will be done on the spot during registration for a course.
