New application for a CAQ for studies

If you wish to extend your stay as a student, you must enclose the following documents with your application:

• recent ID photo, passport format (35 mm X 45 mm)
• payment of fees to examine your application
• legible photocopy of the identity pages of your passport containing your personal information, photo and the passport expiry date
• original or certified true copy of the admission letter from the registrar of the educational institution that you will attend, if you are changing your program or level of study
• original or certified true copy of an official letter from the registrar of the educational institution that you are currently attending specifying your status as a full- or part-time student
• original or photocopy of recent proof of financial capacity applicable to your situation
• for the entire validity period of the preceding CAQ for studies, original or certified true copy of report cards or transcripts from the Québec educational institution
• photocopy of your most recent study permit
• proof that you have maintained health and hospitalization insurance in Québec for the entire validity period of your preceding CAQ for studies
• proof that you will hold health and hospitalization insurance in Québec for the first year of validity of your new CAQ for studies and that you will continue to have at your disposal the funds necessary to purchase such insurance for the entire duration of your studies. Students who will be attending university do not have to provide proof of insurance.
