Being selected by Québec
Prerequisites
To be selected as a sponsored refugee, a foreign national must be recognized
abroad by:

Procedure
Go to the interview to which you are summoned. The purpose of this interview
is to determine whether you are a refugee or a member of a category eligible
for collective sponsorship and to assess your capacity for integration into
Québec society.

The assessment of your capacity for integration into Québec
society also takes into account the fact that you will be able to rely
on the support of a sponsor (group or non-profit organization). |

Complete the Certificat de sélection du Québec (CSQ – Québec
Selection Certificate) application that is sent to you.
It is essential that you declare to the persons undertaking a sponsorship
on your behalf:
- all members of your immediate family (spouse and children), even if these
persons are not accompanying you
- relatives, such as your parents, an aunt, nephew, etc., with whom you
are living
- members of your immediate family who are missing, if you do not have
confirmation that they are deceased
- and, once the sponsorship application has been submitted, any change
in your family situation, such as the birth of a child, your marriage or
the marriage of one of your children.
If you meet the criteria of the Government of Québec, you will receive
a Certificat de sélection du Québec (CSQ – Québec
Selection Certificate). Before your visa is issued, you must successfully pass
the medical examination and security check required by the Canadian visa office
serving your region.
If you are not selected by Québec, you will be notified in writing.
There is no fee to process your application.
