Support for not-for-profit organizations dedicated to the regionalization of immigration (Component 1)

Objectives

The purpose of this component is to fund projects that are pursuing all of the following objectives:

  • to increase the number of immigrants settling outside the cities of Montréal, Laval and Longueuil
  • to encourage sharing of expertise, innovation and cooperation with partners in the milieu in order to increase the capacity of actors from the milieu to attract immigrants to their region
  • to improve the reception, settling in and integration conditions for immigrants
  • to promote, among the general population in the regions, the contribution of immigrants to economic, social and cultural development.

Priority is given to attracting and settling immigrants from the economic class (workers and businesspeople). However, persons from the family class, refugees selected abroad, recognized refugees and persons authorized to submit within Canada an application for permanent residence are not excluded. The targeted clientele must be comprised of immigration candidates or permanent residents who have been living in Québec for less than five years. Applicants for asylum are not targeted.
