From the river to the mountains, the Chaudière-Appalaches region is charming thanks to its splendid landscape. With an enviable geographic location and remarkable economic diversity, the region is famous for its well-established entrepreneurial tradition. The labour market is healthy, with an employment rate above that of Québec as a whole.

Economy and employment

The Chaudière-Appalaches region has many attractions: agricultural activity ranking among the strongest in Québec, a predominant lumber industry, direct access to the St. Lawrence River, proximity to the United States, and the presence of specialized research centres that give the area an enviable economic vitality. In addition to agriculture, manufacturing and tourism, the region is relying increasingly on research and development to ensure its future.
