Information sessions for new immigrants
To make it easier for you to get settled and participate fully in life in
Québec, you can take advantage of individual meetings and attend free information
sessions. These sessions address a wide range of topics, from housing and studies
to work, business and much more.
Group sessions for French-speaking immigrants
These information sessions are intended for French-speaking immigrants who
have landed immigrant status. They are offered in Montréal
but can also be organized in other regions, depending on demand.
- Getting established (from 2 to 4 hours): looking for housing, introduction
to municipal services, public transportation, postal service, banking system,
and legislation and regulations, all of which are topics related to everyday
life.
- Socio-economic integration (from 16 to 20 hours):
- social and economic context: political organization in Québec,
culture and language, education and health care systems;
- Québec labour market: labour legislation and regulations, academic
equivalence, appreciation training, wages, taxation, union organization;
- job searches: information on businesses, interview methods, sources
of employment and winning strategies.
- Knowledge of Québec's regions (3 hours):
quality of life, services offered to immigrants, socio-economic conditions
and employment opportunities - information
