Filing date for 2005 income tax returns extended

Revenu Québec wishes to inform Québec taxpayers that the filing date for 2005 income tax returns has been extended.

Since April 30 is a Sunday, taxpayers have until 11:59 p.m. on Monday, May 1, 2006, to file their returns. Revenu Québec offices at Complexe Desjardins in Montréal and at 4, Place-Laval in Laval will be open until 11:59 p.m. on May 1.

Extended hours for telephone services

Again this year, Revenu Québec's telephone information services will have extended hours during peak tax season. Therefore, until May 1 inclusively, persons who wish to obtain tax information may call Revenu Québec

Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.;
Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

NetFile Québec hours are also extended. Services are available

Mondays through Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. (exceptions: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on April 14 and 17, and 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on May 1);
Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The extended hours will give taxpayers easier access to the assistance they need to file their income tax returns.
